So, for the first time, we advertised externally, on meetup.com, to gauge general interest in this type of group. Based on 3 days of being on the site, it's a pretty popular offering, with more than 60 members and many rsvp emails, resulting in a very full session this past Monday. We kept it pretty minimal, to get people hands on with some of the gear, but will be moving more into specific tools and techniques, with next week's session to focus on basic Ableton use, building songs from scratch, and also a bit of an overview of our pet drum machine, the Akai Tom Cat.
Last night was lots of fun, and great to get to know new members, but we'll try to refine how we can work with such a large group, as it was pretty chaotic!!! But hey, we're new to this, onwards and upwards!
